IREV 4.0: Smart Industrial IOT in Manufacturing

Course Overview

Basics IoT course focused on understanding the concept of open-source hardware and get introduced to a variety of development boards and credit card sized computers with the practical implementation of a solution. The building blocks for any IoT projects are electronics like sensors, actuators, motors, etc. and many of these chief components are explained well in all perspectives during the course. By the end of the course, one gets the wings of innovation to think, try and develop something new for the world

Course Objectives

The aims of this course is to provide the understanding of IoT; how they work, terminology, and the hardware and software elements that make up an internet of things. The objective that been formulated to achieve the aims was:

  • To understand the structure and application of IoT in industry
  • To recognize and understand the use cases of different sensors and actuators.
  • To learn the architecture of IoT solutions
  • To implement an IoT solution practically

Participants will engage in pair activities and live demonstration will be conducted to identify and show the IoT development, along with instructor led segments to construct the circuit, write the programming and run the IoT application. Participants will also learn how to apply these theories into practice.

Course Learning Outcome

Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Maintain the HVM operation according to the product and process specifications
  • Understand the importance of react ing proactively and prevent any potential quality related failure.
  • Support the HVM operation according to its targeted performance and level
  • Support other function or job level in producing high value-add HVM operation
  • Understand the basics of Internet of Things.
  • Connect the sensors and actuators to NodeMCU
  • Write the program using Arduino IDE.
  • Create the WiFi Access Point (AP) and Client
  • Create a simple HTML page on NodeMCU
  • Send and retrieve data from cloud.
